Pine Needles is the opening track (and 3rd single) off Daniel Steinbock's debut album, Out of Blue. Following in the long tradition of poets, bards, and mystics, he opens the album with a dedication to the Muse. "Without her, I wouldn't be here singing to you. The song asks you to wonder, 'is there anything that is not holy?' Pine needles point in every direction at the beautiful dream we live inside of. And if our very flesh is holy, what better way to worship God than to make love?"
lyrics
I dedicate this to the Muse
Turning up out of blue
Singing to me all the things
I ever sang to you
If I'm Heaven-bound
I hope you'll track me down
Every needle on the pine
Points the way
Or if I'm bound for Hell
I'll sing fare-you-well
Just think on me time to time
At the end of the day
My love is in the garden
Early in the morning
Look and see all the seeds
We started
I dedicate this to my Muse
That's you-know-who
There's a God above so let's make love
In the living room
If I'm Heaven-bound
I hope you'll track me down
Every needle on the pine
Points the way
Or if I'm bound for Hell
I'll sing fare-you-well
Just think on me time to time
At the end of the day
